Historic Gatekeepers Cabin  located at Tahoe Dam, "Fanny Bridge" at the Y in Tahoe City, CA.    The outlet for the Truckee River, that flows east to Pyramid Lake, headwaters are are at the dam in Tahoe City. The Truckee River Outlet Park flanks the Tahoe Dam on either side, newly restored by the TCPUD and the California State Parks System.  Fanny Bridge that spans the Truckee River at Tahoe City is so named for the number of "fannys" that are prominent as viewers lean over the bridge for a view of the historic large collection of Rainbow Trout that reside in the waters between the dam and the bridge.  Fanny Bridge, the park and the dam are worth the trip as the views are wonderful, the ambience supurb. Fishing is prohibited within 500ft of the dam.
